Good evening. West Virginia's governor announced that the state will observe Juneteenth again this year. The June 19 holiday celebrates the end of slavery in the U.S. President Joe Biden first made Juneteenth a federal holiday in 2021, and West Virginia Governor Jim Justice made it a state holiday for the first time that same year. Since Monday, June 20 — West Virginia Day — is already a state holiday, state employees will get a four-day weekend to celebrate.
