CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The entertainment lineup for Charleston’s annual Juneteenth celebration has been announced.
The event, which takes place on Saturday, June 17, will feature artists from around West Virginia. It will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the grounds of the State Capitol Complex.
“We are thrilled to host this year’s Juneteenth celebration at the West Virginia Capitol Complex,” said Jill Upson, the Director of West Virginia’s Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs (HHOMA).
This year’s celebration is hosted in partnership with Charleston’s ongoing FestivALL Art Festival, which wraps up on June 18.
Charleston’s Juneteenth event will be headlined by Grammy-nominated R&B group Dru Hill. Past and present members of the band – including SisQo, Nokio, Jazz, Scola, Tao, Smoke and Black -- will be on hand to showcase their eclectic repertoire, which includes soul, hip hop soul and gospel music...
